The Transalp/ “AlpenX” is a rite of passage for many European mountain bikers. It is a special feeling to embark on a trip with light equipment, knowing you’ll spend most of the coming days in the saddle focused on continuing to pedal uphill. Find below our personal route.

- Sleeping: We decided to bring our tent and to alternate sleeping in hotels with sleeping on campgrounds.

- Check out the many, many ways to get across the Alps on your bike - e.g., the “classic” Albrecht route.
- Be prepared for changing weather including strong wind, rain, and snow. Make sure to carry a lightweight bivy and first aid kit along with tools and spares.
